Cahill Gordon & Reindel won out in a bidding war for Allen & Overy partner Jonathan Brownson this summer, with the firm agreeing to an annual package of $6.9 million guaranteed for three years, according to two people with knowledge of the move.

Shearman & Sterling had also vied for the London finance heavyweight, offering a package worth around $5 million, the people added.
