A combination of Cravath-level year-end bonuses and Davis Polk-led special bonuses may no longer cut it as the definition of “market rate,” as Big Law firms implement additional perks in varying ways.

Wednesday brought a bonus announcement from Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe. The firm confirmed that it matched year-end bonuses at Cravath, Swaine & Moore and Davis Polk & Wardwell and awarded an additional set of “overmarket” bonuses to outstanding associates ranging from $3,750 to $25,000, depending on year.
