At Clark Hill, 2020 was eventful even aside from a global pandemic, economic fallout and presidential election. It was also a year of leadership transition, and one that caused the firm to pivot its strategy in response to client needs and external conditions.

John Hensien became chief executive officer of Clark Hill this month, after a year-long transition during which he worked closely with then-CEO John Hern. Hern has taken on a new role as chair of the firm, serving with Jeffrey Conn, who heads both the banking and financial services practice and the firm’s Pittsburgh office. Hern and Conn each retain their positions on the Am Law 200 firm’s executive committee.
