As lateral hiring picks up with the start of the new year, Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough and Sidley Austin each landed leaders in practices that are experiencing increased demand during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The advantages of expanding in those areas is becoming clear as financial reports from Am Law 100 firms Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld and McDermott Will & Emery show that each posted significant gains in gross revenue and profits per equity partner in 2020, crediting strength in practices that have remained in high demand during the pandemic.
Richard Levin joined Nelson Mullins as a partner in Denver and Washington, D.C., and chair of the financial technology (fintech) and regulation practice. He had been chair of the fintech and regulation practice at Polsinelli, and was one of the first lawyers to focus on the regulation of blockchain and digital assets.
