More firms—including Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton; Debevoise & Plimpton; Paul Hastings; Goodwin Procter; and Simpson Thacher & Bartlett—have announced they will match the special associate bonus scale set by Davis Polk & Wardwell earlier this week. The firms’ bonuses, like several others, stretch out bonuses throughout the year, offering one incentive for associates to stick around.

Paul Hastings announced Thursday it will make special bonus payments in May and October, in payments totaling $12,000 to $64,000, depending on class year. In a memo shared with The American Lawyer, firm leaders said associates in good standing in the United States, Asia, London, Frankfurt and São Paulo offices would be eligible.
