The number of new SPACs has taken a nosedive in the past couple of months, but that doesn’t negate the effect the early months of 2021 had on the vehicle and its impact in the deal world. 

While March saw more SPAC listings than any month since financial data company Refinitiv started keeping records, with 116 SPACs raising $34.5 billion, April saw only 18 total SPACs raising $3.9 billion.
