Milbank has announced that the firm, for the first time, will have a C-level position dedicated to diversity and inclusion. The firm has hired Mikeisha Anderson Jones as the firm's first-ever global chief diversity, equity and inclusion officer.

While Milbank is among the Big Law leaders on competitive factors such as compensation, the firm took longer than most to create a position focused on diversity, equity and inclusion. Most of its New York peers already have someone in this position as well. Numerous other firms that lacked this role filled it in a rush of hires for DEI professionals last year, taking note of the massive protests across the U.S. over continued racial injustice and violence against people of color.
