For many law firm candidates who have spoken with Los Angeles-based recruiter Merle Vaughn in recent months, the first question is no longer “how much does this firm pay?” but “how flexible is this firm going to be with my location?”

“This is mostly with respect to young lawyers, who don’t understand why they would need to be anywhere in particular for a job,” Vaughn said at a Tuesday panel during ALM’s Legalweek(year) 2021, on how legal organizations plan to integrate employees in a post-pandemic paradigm after a year and a half of remote work.
