A Washington, D.C., federal judge has rejected a bid by former Jones Day associates Mark Savignac and Julia Sheketoff to restrict leaders at the firm from viewing discovery materials in their suit alleging that its parental leave policy discriminates against fathers.

U.S. District Judge Randolph Moss of the District of Columbia on July 16 found that the pair’s concerns that firm leaders could use the information obtained to potentially retaliate against other attorneys still at the firm weren’t sufficient to justify keeping managing partner Stephen Brogan and others in the dark.
