While in years past many prominent merger and acquisition firms would tout their general expertise in dealmaking, many firms now making noise in the M&A league tables are specialists in one or two industries.

It is also useful to state to a client that your firm, or lead attorney in a deal, has done a lot of work in that sector, knows the nuances of the vertical and should be the choice to handle a client’s M&A work.
