Talent wars in Big Law have led to salary increases, bonuses and perhaps more workplace leverage than younger attorneys have ever had. And now, at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, another bonus will add to the pile.

In a memo obtained by Law.com, Paul Weiss chair Brad Karp said the firm will be instituting a “special bonus program” for certain associates and counsel. The amount of the bonus was not disclosed in the memo, and neither was specific criteria for receiving it. The memo simply said a bonus would be provided “to reward those of you whose contributions and sacrifices have been extraordinary” during the first half of the year.
