The finalists for The American Lawyer's 2021 Attorney of the Year award took vastly different paths to reach this point. They include a Swiss general counsel whose leadership helped deliver vaccines to millions of people living in countries in need; a partner at the world's highest-grossing firm who put more than a decade into a pro bono fight that will have a lasting impact on Black education; and a legal educator whose advocacy for second chances led him to be admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court bar. Their stories, highlighted above, speak to the resilience, commitment and perseverance of the legal profession.
