Following the December dismissal of a long-running lawsuit between Marvel Entertainment Chairman Issac Perlmutter and Canadian businessman Harold Peerenboom, Perlmutter’s wife, Laura Perlmutter, is suing Kasowitz Benson Torres and former partner Michael Paul Bowen for “malicious prosecution” and emotional distress arising from the lawsuit, which the plaintiff says had “no legal basis.”

In 2010, Peerenboom accused Karen Donnelly, the tennis pro (and friend of the Perlmutters) who ran the tennis center in the community Peerenboom and the Perlmutters live in, Sloans Curve, of benefiting from bid-rigging. Peerenboom objected to the process in which Donnelly came to run the tennis center but was later overruled by the homeowners’ association.
