A lobbyist with Duane Morris in Pennsylvania and an attorney with Michael Best Fredrich in Wisconsin are among several Big Law figures who put their names on slates of electors falsely declaring that former President Donald Trump won their states in the 2020 election.

As a non-lawyer, Duane Morris’ Ted Christian—who served as Pennsylvania state director for Trump’s 2016 campaign—is not covered by the legal profession’s rules of professional conduct. But the considerations are different for Michael Best counsel Andrew Hitt, along with Hall Booth Smith partner Brad Carver, who signed Georgia Republicans’ bogus slate, and Saxton & Stump shareholder Andy Reilly, who joined Christian on the Pennsylvania letter. Their names appear on documents obtained from the National Archives by non-partisan watchdog group American Oversight.
