Sidley Austin, with litigation and regulatory practices perking up alongside a white-hot transactional market, saw revenue rise by 13.5% to $2.795 billion last year and profits per equity partner grow by 20% to about $3.718 million.

In a year that saw significant demand increases from 2020 across the legal market, the firm noted a roughly 8% increase in hours charged to 3,300,100, “the largest single volume we’ve experienced,” said Larry Barden, chair of the firm’s management committee. Nearly 2,000 new clients turned to Sidley partners last year, the firm said.
