White & Case will withdraw from representing a sanctioned Russian oligarch in civil proceedings, according to court filings to the New York Supreme Court seen by The American Lawyer.

As reported earlier by The American Lawyer, since at least 2016, in Lebedev v. Blavatnik and Vekselberg, a White & Case lawyer had served as counsel for Viktor Vekselberg, an associate of Vladimir Putin who has been the target of U.S. sanctions since 2018.
