Heavyweight litigation shop Boies Schiller Flexner has found itself one of the rare firms to shed revenue in 2021. In a year where many firms saw double-digit percentage growth, the firm’s total revenue dropped 8%, falling to $230 million in 2021 from $250 million the year prior.

According to firm managing partner Matthew L. Schwartz, Boies Schiller’s financial performance last year was largely attributed to the continued effects of the widespread court closures that came with a global pandemic and the subsequent lag in moving cases forward during that time.
