Winston & Strawn, attempting to fend off a $150 million legal malpractice suit, is wading through discovery in a case alleging that the firm’s actions led to a client’s loss of a prominent New York hotel.

Depositions in the case are likely to take place later this year. The law firm has been battling with the former owners of the Rye Brook-based Doral Arrowwood Hotel and Resort, a venue that includes a nine-hole golf course and driving range, restaurants, pools, and basketball and tennis courts in addition to a 373-room hotel, since December, when the owners filed malpractice, breach of contract and negligent misrepresentation claims in New York state court.
