Three more law firms have entered the court battle between Twitter and Elon Musk in recent days, while dozens of subpoenas have been issued to big banks and others — promising to grow each side's legal bill even further.

In Delaware litigation over whether Musk should be compelled to complete his $44 billion buy of Twitter, both sides have enlisted conflict counsel. Twitter has turned to Am Law 200 firm Kobre & Kim, while Musk has retained Delaware firm Chipman, Brown, Cicero & Cole. Meanwhile, Twitter has also engaged several litigators from Ballard Spahr. In all, at least 27 lawyers now appear on the docket, from six different firms.
