Assistant U.S. Attorney James Durkin in Chicago has rejoined McDermott Will & Emery, marking at least the third prosecutor to move out of the Northern District of Illinois for private practice in recent months, as large law firms ramp up their white-collar bench in the Windy City.

Durkin joined the firm Tuesday as a partner in its litigation practice after seven years with the federal prosecutor’s office, where he led investigations and prosecutions within the National Security and Cybercrimes Section, including trade secrets theft, identity theft, trade sanctions, counterintelligence, foreign terrorism, domestic terrorism and civil unrest violations.
