Merger talks between Hogan Lovells and Shearman & Sterling have continued to progress in recent weeks, with management from both firms meeting on each side of the Atlantic. 

Hogan Lovells CEO Miguel Zaldivar travelled to London earlier in January to meet with Shearman’s senior management, including senior partner David Beveridge, while in December, representatives from both law firms met in New York, according to a person with knowledge of the matter.
