Reed Smith’s global managing partner, Alexander “Sandy” Thomas, is stepping down from his role and the firm to take a position as chief legal officer of nonprofit KIND, which focuses its efforts on protecting unaccompanied and separated children in the U.S. and beyond the country’s borders.

In the coming weeks, he will work to transition the role to Reed Smith lifer and current global head of legal personnel, Catherine “Casey” Ryan.
