One of the most successful antitrust lawyers in modern history, Donald Flexner had already risen to the top of his practice by the time he became the third named partner of Boies Schiller Flexner more than two decades ago. Since joining what was then a two-partner litigation boutique, Flexner further cemented his legacy as a lion of the antitrust bar, overseeing some of the largest corporate mergers in American history.

At times, Flexner made it look easy. “The thing that has distinguished him among first-rate antitrust practitioners in the country is his judgment and the confidence people had in that judgment,” David Boies told the American Lawyer in 2017 when Flexner won the Lifetime Achiever award. “Lawyers are not always the most liked people in the room, but I don’t know anybody that doesn’t like and admire Don Flexner.”
