Sidley Austin, with growth in practices such as energy and infrastructure, life sciences and health care, and a second-half surge in regulatory and litigation work, held on to its 2021 gains and boosted revenue by about 4.6% last year, up past $2.9 billion.

Amid a 13.6% drop in the equity partner count, Sidley also saw average profits per partner grow by 12%, up to about $4.2 million, while revenue per lawyer ticked down about 1.8%, to $1.45 million.
