Compensation for all partners, which includes firms' equity and nonequity tiers, decreased at a higher rate than profits to equity partners.

When combining equity and nonequity partner payouts, the Am Law 100 saw a 4% decline in compensation across its partner tiers.
Thirty-seven firms posted increases, compared with 95 the previous year. Nine firms posted double-digit gains, while 20 firms posted double-digit losses.
