The American Lawyer is pleased to announce its Lifetime Achievement honorees and finalists for the Attorney of the Year. These individuals are set to be honored at The American Lawyer Industry Awards in New York on Nov. 15, when the winner of the Attorney of the Year and several other industry awards will also be announced. Lifetime Achievement Honorees

  • Rosemary Alito, practice group leader for labor, employment and workplace safety at K&L Gates.
  • W. Neil Eggleston, partner, Kirkland & Ellis.
  • Kenneth Frazier, former chairman and CEO, Merck.
  • John Gleeson, partner, Debevoise & Plimpton.
  • Roberta Liebenberg, member, Fine, Kaplan and Black.
  • Gary Naftalis, co-chairman, Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel (Law Firm Distinguished Leader honoree).

Attorney of the Year Finalists

  • David Cross of Morrison & Foerster: for his work on the rule of law and his efforts to increase conversations about disabilities as part of the larger work to improve diversity in the profession.
  • Michael Gottlieb of Willkie Farr & Gallagher: for his work across the country on litigation and representation related to the rule of law.
  • Brian Wallach of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom: for his advocacy, public interest and pro bono work to find treatment options for and improve the lives of those living with ALS.
  • Sally Yates of King & Spalding: for her work leading the all-women investigative team digging into systemic abuse of players within the National Women's Soccer League.
