Schulte Roth & Zabel has added Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison counsel David Curtiss as a partner in its M&A, acquisitions and securities group in New York, the firm said Wednesday. Curtiss had been at Paul Weiss the previous three years.
"The SPAC [special purpose acquisition company] practice is never going to be what it was in 2021," Curtiss said in an interview. "But the opportunity here is in the special situations. Opportunistic investing by preferred equity, debt workouts either in court or out, there is work in that space. Those two categories will take up a lot of my time."
