Paul Genender said he anticipates clients moving with him to Paul Hastings. And he has plans to hire and recruit in Texas. "Whether folks from my other firm join or not is their choice."

Weil, Gotshal & Manges Texas litigation head Paul Genender is exiting the firm for the same role at Paul Hastings in its Houston office, the firm said Monday. Genender will also co-chair the firm's Houston office, alongside longtime chair Joy Dowdle.
In an interview, Genender said that he is "lucky enough to have client relationships that go back to the late 1990s" and as such, anticipates the bulk of his existing client base making the move to Paul Hastings with him.
