Proskauer Rose silently cut more than 20 business professionals in August, according to sources familiar with the firm’s operations. It’s one of the latest reminders that law firms have been trimming their payrolls throughout the year, despite big salary raises in the associate ranks lately.

Proskauer laid off 22 business professionals in August as part of a resolution of cost-cutting and redundancy issues, according to sources, noting that that’s about 3% of the firm’s business professional population. A Proskauer spokesperson did not respond to a request for comment before publication time.
