- It was a big week in deals, highlighted by a $22.5 billion energy deal.
- Activity across the board has been high, even as the prevailing wisdom is that things are not out of the woods yet.
With nine deals of more than $1 billion last week and six of those being more than $3 billion, it was a banner week in deal value, highlighted by ConocoPhillips' $22.5 billion purchase of Marathon Oil.
Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz represented ConocoPhillips, while Marathon Oil turned to Kirkland & Ellis.

J. Brugh Lower of Gibbons has entered an appearance for industrial equipment supplier Devco Corporation in a pending trademark infringement lawsuit. The suit, accusing the defendant of selling knock-off Graco products, was filed Dec. 18 in New Jersey District Court by Rivkin Radler on behalf of Graco Inc. and Graco Minnesota.
