With the practice starting strong and gaining steam through the middle of the year, multiple Big Law firms have continued looking to shore up their bench in bankruptcy. This week Arnold & Porter became one of the latest to add lateral talent in restructuring, announcing the return of Matthew Micheli as a partner in its Chicago office, the firm announced Monday.

Micheli, who was previously counsel at Arnold & Porter, joins the firm from Paul Hastings, where he was of counsel. His experience includes a range of restructurings, Arnold & Porter noted in a statement. He’s also worked on debt financings and distressed M&A matters, and has been first chair in lender- and company-side engagements. He also spent “several years” as a corporate executive, the firm stated.
