Morrison & Foerster has hired Ryan Adams, a former U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission attorney-adviser, as a partner in its Washington, D.C.-based public company advisory and governance group, the firm announced Tuesday.

Adams joins the San Francisco-headquartered Am Law 40 firm from Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, where he was most recently a counsel. Before joining Skadden in 2018, he spent more than five years with the SEC as attorney-adviser to the Office of Chief Counsel and Division of Corporate Finance.
