What You Need to Know
- Ten-year lawyers at some firms can charge more than three times that of peers with the same experience in the Am Law 100, bankruptcy billing records indicate.
- Numerous Am Law 50 firms charge more for first-year associates than Am Law 51-100 charge for lawyers admitted in 2014.
Lawyers at Am Law 100 firms who were admitted to their respective bar associations in 2014 are now charging between $530 and $1,695, according to an American Lawyer analysis of bankruptcy billing records from 2024.

The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments.
