Among five announced deals that were valued at over $1 billion in the last week, four of them were private equity-driven. Those deals were led by firms with strong private equity practices and relationships, such as Latham & Watkins, Kirkland & Ellis, Simpson, Thacher & Bartlett and Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, among others.

According to the London Stock Exchange Group, private equity-backed M&A in the first half of 2024 was up by 36%  from 2023, hitting $369.5 billion—a welcome sign for many firms’ turning to PE for profits.
