Law firms with lobbying businesses tied to Capitol Hill are preparing for a “dog fight” leading up to the presidential election, fielding client calls in the hours after President Joe Biden’s exit from the race about what happens next for Democrats and what a Kamala Harris presidency could mean policy-wise, according to several firm practice leaders.

It comes as Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck and Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld broke new lobbying revenue records in the second quarter. Meanwhile, Holland & Knight, K&L Gates and Hogan Lovells enjoyed year-over-year lobbying revenue increases, according to Lobbying Disclosure Act filings on Monday.
