Hogan Lovells is closing three international offices — Sydney, Australia; Johannesburg, South Africa; and Warsaw, Poland — in the coming months, laying off about 65 attorneys, including 11 partners, and 58 support staff located in those markets, the firm said Thursday.

In an interview, CEO Miguel Zaldivar indicated some of the work in the offices could be serviced in other locations but declined to specify the exact reasoning for those three particular offices. He said the office closings were not an “economic driven” decision, adding that the three offices have been “financially successful.”
