Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher; Simpson Thacher & Bartlett; Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz; Ropes & Gray; Latham & Watkins; and others all worked on deals announced in the last week that were more than $7 billion in value, as the mergers and acquisitions market continues to pick up in 2024.

According to the London Stock Exchange Group, global M&A was up 16% through the first nine months of 2024 compared with last year, hitting $2.3 trillion in market value. As it turns out, those deals were larger than last year, but not more plentiful. The overall deal volume year over year was actually down 20% to about 35,500, LSEG says.
