With attention turning to the outcome of the U.S. election, Big Law firms saw mixed lobbying earnings in the third quarter. Two big firms saw lobbying revenue slow down from the second to third quarters.

Some firms reported that clients are waiting until after the election to engage on certain matters. Still, lobbying activity surrounding the National Defense Authorization Act and provisions of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act set to expire next year continues to keep firms' lobbying businesses busy. And some firms are on track to have a better 2024 than last year.
