- Over 80% of Am Law 50 firms that responded to an American Lawyer inquiry said they increased class sizes.
- Meanwhile, law firms made fewer offers for 2024 2L summer associate programs, a possible predictor of smaller class sizes in 2025.
First-year associate classes are looking bigger in 2024, according to data submitted by half of the Am Law 50 in response to a recent American Lawyer inquiry.
The median change in class size among responsive firms came in at an increase of 11%, with just four firms decreasing class sizes in 2024 and six firms increasing them by more than 20%.
