Big Law continues to add a flurry of lateral partners late in the year in their core practices, an indication of firms' growth and buying power in 2024. Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer; Paul Hastings; McDermott, Will & Emery; and Alston & Bird, among others, all announced new partner hires on Monday, adding talent to strong existing practices.

Freshfields added capital markets partner Phillip Stoup from Latham & Watkins in Silicon Valley. Paul Hastings added private equity and M&A partner Rachel Gray from Winston & Strawn in New York. McDermott brought on intellectual property litigator Michael Sitzman from DLA Piper in San Francisco, and Alston hired Kirkland & Ellis investment funds partner Sam Roh in New York, the firms said Monday.
