President-elect Donald Trump on Thursday announced his intent to nominate former U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission Chair Jay Clayton as the next head of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York.
Clayton, 58, a senior policy adviser and of counsel at Sullivan & Cromwell, previously served as the SEC head during Trump’s first administration, but has never worked as a criminal prosecutor.
