There's increasing evidence of broad demand increases in Big Law across multiple practices. But some practices stand out in performance in 2024 compared with others.

Litigation—particularly labor and employment, general liability and insurance defense litigation—has been especially sought-after, according to multiple industry reports this month about third-quarter performance. Industry observers say continued strength in countercyclical practices is expected in 2025 as economic tailwinds and a new administration could wind up “priming the pump” for a larger surge in transactions as well.
