Armstrong Teasdale Ltd. tried unsuccessfully to offload its London law practice through an "accelerated and discreet” marketing campaign over several weeks before finally calling in administrators in October to collect its debts and pay what’s left of the fallout to creditors.

Administrators have so far collected only £155,040 of the £512,040 the firm is owed in London, according to documents filed with U.K. regulator Companies House and made public on Thursday. Another £495,600 sitting in the law firm’s bank account was immediately frozen by the administrators, bringing the total in realised or anticipated assets to £1,076,000. But Armstrong Teasdale’s U.K. debts are also significant with an outstanding tax bill of £1.8 million and more creditors waiting in the wings.
