A concerted and collaborative approach to servicing life sciences clients across the globe has earned Ropes & Gray an American Lawyer Industry Award for Specialty Corporate Department of the Year, in the pharma and health care category.
More than 600 Ropes & Gray lawyers specialize in the practice area, which includes transactional, regulatory, and intellectual property work, among other related fields. The attorneys working in this area comprise about 20% of the firm's global attorney headcount, and about a third of annual revenue is derived from this practice area, as Ropes completed more than 300 practice area-related deals since July 2022, said the firm—which beat out finalists Cooley, Kirkland & Ellis, Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, and Sullivan & Cromwell to snag the top honor in this category.
