Sanjay Wadhwa, most recently the acting director of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s Enforcement Division, has joined Weil, Gotshal & Manges as a partner in New York, the firm said Monday. Wadhwa will work within the firm’s securities litigation and white-collar defense, regulatory and investigations practices.
Wadhwa’s hiring is the latest example of Weil turning to government laterals to bump up its partner bench. The firm has now added at least six partners with top government experience in the last year. Weil added another leading SEC lawyer two weeks ago.
