The Cleveland-based Baker & Hostetler litigation partner, who just turned 52, recently secured a $2.2 million civil settlement for Anthony Harris, a client he took on pro bono in a criminal case nine years ago.

The settlement–with Ohio’s Tuscarawas County and its chief prosecutor Amanda Spies–marks the end a legal battle that began in 1998 when Harris, who is black, was arrested for the murder of a white neighbor, 5-year-old Devan Duniver.
