John Beisner, who chaired the class actions practice at O’Melveny & Myers, is joining Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, along with O’Melveny litigators Stephen Harburg and Jessica Davidson Miller. Above the Law first reported the news of Beisner’s move on Monday.

Beisner has been one of the most visible of O’Melveny’s partners in recent years. Last year, for example, he negotiated a multibillion settlement for Bank of America with 11 state attorneys general over troubled mortgages issued by its Countrywide unit. (The Am Law Litigation Daily named him Litigator of the Week for his work on the deal.) And in 2007, he played a leading role representing Merck in its $4.85 billion Vioxx settlement.
