Cobell v. Salazar

The U.S. government agreed on December 7 to pay $3.4 billion to resolve a lengthy legal battle over claims that the U.S. Department of the Interior cheated nearly a half-million Native Americans out of royalties owed them under government-managed land trust accounts. It is the largest class action settlement ever against the government.
