Public finance lawyer Timothy Carson has resigned as a vice chairman of the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission over revelations about two past drunk-driving incidents. Carson’s resignation came on Monday. It also turns out the lawyer is no longer employed by his law firm, Saul Ewing.
According to a report in The Philadelphia Inquirer Tuesday, Carson submitted a resignation letter to Gov. Edward G. Rendell admitting to two DUI convictions from 2003 and 2006 involving the use of state vehicles. Carson has been a member of the body that operates, finances and maintains the turnpike since 2000.
