Five firms moved from the second hundred onto The Am Law 100 this year. New to the 100 are Bracewell & Guiliani and Davis Wright Tremaine, which landed on the list thanks in part to a large contingency fee. Two firms return after being off the list since 2006—Cozen O’Connor and Hughes Hubbard & Reed. And one firm, Williams & Connolly, hasn’t been on The Am Law 100 since 1996.

Firms are listed alphabetically. For firms whose fiscal year ended between September 1, 2009, and March 31, 2010, lawyer numbers are as of August 31, 2009. Gross revenue is rounded to the nearest $500,000. Profits per partner, revenue per lawyer, and compensation–all partners are rounded to the nearest $5,000.
